Position Summary:
As a member of the healthcare team, I provide direct spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, faculty, and staff in accordance with the philosophy and mission of the Department of Spiritual Care. Provides a consistent and supportive presence with appropriate interventions to assess spiritual and emotional needs within the health care setting. Provides spiritual support and guidance throughout the trajectory of illness and treatments, specifically around advance care planning, including Advance Directives. Provides crisis and grief support to families and staff. Engages and provides staff resiliency interventions, i.e., blessing of hands and debriefings.
Engages in planning and implementing special events, programs, projects, and services, assuming a leadership role, and includes spiritual care. Participates in teaching and mentoring learners (all disciplines), focusing on integrating spiritual care into clinical care. Works with the Department of Spiritual Care & Chaplaincy leadership to enhance and advance Chaplaincy in healthcare—networks with local, state, and national Spiritual Care & Chaplaincy organizations
Shift: 40 hours per week, day shift.
