Chemical Dependency Director directs chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment and recovery programs. Leads, supports, and develops care team members. Being a Chemical Dependency Director oversees services from intake through discharge for continuity and quality of client care. Prioritizes client safety and directs crisis management. Additionally, Chemical Dependency Director develops and administers approved standards and guidelines, ensures all licensing and accreditation requirements are maintained. Establishes and administers recordkeeping and reporting processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Typically reports to a director. The Chemical Dependency Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chemical Dependency Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The certified counselor provides support and builds relationship with patients who have a chemical dependency diagnosis to ensure a successful transition from home or hospital setting to the Chemical Dependency unit. Support includes brief assessment of status of chemical dependency issue, assessment of readiness for change, identification of coverage for services, referral to appropriate services and follow-up to ensure services are received.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Coursework/Training - Completion of CADC or CATC program in good standing.
    • California Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor - California Association of DUI Treatment upon hire.
    • 2 years - Work experience in an addiction treatment acute/non-acute setting.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree - Human Services, Social Worker, or related field.
    • 2 years - Worked as an addiction counselor/clinician at a prior 12 step recovery program.
