Job Description
Position requires thorough knowledge of civil engineering analysis and design techniques. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and the firm standards.
Designs and supervises construction projects such as site plans, roads, bridges, channels, dams, and drainage infrastructure. Responsibilities also include preparing proposals and establishing completion dates. Requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and min. 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within civil engineering. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job function sometimes requires exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
