Chemical Plant Operator controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into products. Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:
•Assist in keeping warehouse a clean and safe environment.
•Operating equipment and following processes to complete tasks in a timely manner.
•May be required to work on a computer.
•May be required to drive a forklift.
•Responsible for following all established plant procedures (Safety, Quality, HR, etc.).
•Responsible for product quality assessments and adherence to product specifications.
•Follow safety protocols when working with chemicals and hazardous materials.
•Execute sampling procedures per established requirements to maintain company quality standards.
•Will be working in a team environment but must be able to work individually as well.
•Maintain integrity and accuracy in data entry.
•Must be able to be forklift certified.
•Time-pressure and a flexible attitude regarding last minute planning changes.
•Exposure to heat, dust, potential hazardous chemicals, and noise.
•Ability to work shifts, weekends and/or overtime as required.
•Ability to obtain pesticide application certificate.
•Ability to work with various types of machinery.
•Ability to multitask as needed.
To be considered, you will need:
•GED, High School Diploma, or equivalent experience.
•2-5 years' experience in processing and/or agricultural operations beneficial.
