Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Ames Goldsmith is looking for Chemical Plant Operators at our Glens Falls plant to operate equipment and manufacture quality materials.
3- Night & 2- Days shifts available - Hours are 6:00AM - 6:00PM & 6:00PM - 6:00AM

Chemical operators will be making and handling primarily silver based products. Silver nitrate, silver oxide, silver powder, silver coated copper, and silver flake are all manufactured by Ames Goldsmith. Our products are used in everything from batteries and medical devices to cell phones and automobiles. It is a fast paced environment where equipment and processes are continually being upgraded. We are also looking to staff our refinery, where we recycle silver bearing materials.

7. Maintains equipment.
8. Reviews and analyzes process data for special cause and corrective action.
9. Perform routine/non-routine housekeeping jobs to keep area clean and safe.
10. Reacts, in accordance with Emergency Preparedness Procedures, to emergency situations.
11. Flexibility to work outside standard operating hours and tasks.
Salary: $21.50/hr - $22.75/hr
