Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. CHEMICAL OFFLOAD OPERATOR - FACILITIES OPERATIONS
This is an entry level position assisting Facility Operations personnel with monitoring, operating, and maintaining various facility support systems. Typical tasks include:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
A requirement for this position you must maintain status as a Hazmat team member, this includes meeting and maintaining the physical and training requirements for certification. Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Will handle drums weighing up to 600 pounds on occasion. Must be able to read the information and identify the colors located on labels and placards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Facility Utilities work both indoors and outdoors in all extremes of weather. Wearing and utilizing various types of Safety equipment including chemical protective suits (up to and including fully encapsulated), chemical protective, boots, gloves, goggles, hard hat, safety harness, safety shoes, safety glasses, respirators (chemical & particulate) and sometimes self-contained breathing apparatus are worn. Utilities perform tasks around and with a variety of gases, chemicals and waste (hazardous & toxic). They must work in confined spaces, at high elevations and around high noise levels. They often work alone for long periods of time. A high degree of safety consciousness is required. Compliance with Federal/State and company safety policies and procedures is required.
