Chemical Technician determines the physical and chemical properties of compounds and materials using quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis. Performs a variety of chemical tests using instrumental methods and standard test equipment. Being a Chemical Technician prepares materials for laboratory examination and conducts quality, safety, and compliance assessments. Follows established SOPs. Additionally, Chemical Technician sets up and maintains lab equipment. Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results. Requires an associate degree in chemistry, science or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Chemical Technician works under moderate supervision. This position is 12 hours, 4 days on 4 days off. It is swing shift so rotates between 1
7 : 45am-7 : 45pm) and 3
Key Responsibilities :
Operation of a forklift
Complete Hot List pour ups
Basic chemical blends
Drum batching from reactors
Safety participation
Lifting various raw materials
Manhandling drums less than 100 pounds
Qualifications Required :
High School Diploma
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be able to climb multiple steps, lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, pass medical clearance and wear a full-face respirator
Computer experience, windows-based software
Qualifications Preferred :
High level of computer skills
Prior experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment
Forklift experience
SAP experience
