Chemical Technician determines the physical and chemical properties of compounds and materials using quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis. Performs a variety of chemical tests using instrumental methods and standard test equipment. Being a Chemical Technician prepares materials for laboratory examination and conducts quality, safety, and compliance assessments. Follows established SOPs. Additionally, Chemical Technician sets up and maintains lab equipment. Records and tabulates data and documents observations and results. Requires an associate degree in chemistry, science or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Chemical Technician works under moderate supervision. Description:
Operate chemical mixing equipment, compounding equipment, pumps, valves, hoses, etc. on a daily basis
Operate sit down forklifts to transport materials throughout the site and to shipping and receiving areas
Follow specific batch sheets and document all corresponding information throughout daily activities
Use specific measuring equipment to weigh out raw materials to the correct proportions
Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to ensure correct amounts are used and correct percentages of finished materials
Perform QC checks on finished materials, in process materials, and raw materials as needed
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
HS Diploma, HSED, or GED 2 years of mixing, blending, or compounding experience OR 2 years of food, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing operator experience
