Chemist evaluates the chemical and physical properties of various organic and inorganic substances. Utilizes established methods and procedures and laboratory equipment to perform analytical testing of substances. Being a Chemist prepares compounds, reagents and solutions. Develop and write technical reports of testing results. Additionally, Chemist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.   • The Job

    • Responsible for evaluating and treating waste chemicals recieved at the facility.
    • Conducts field sampling activities and calibration of meters and other electronic equipment.
    • Routes waste materials to the appropriate landfill/treatment facility.
    • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by management and required by the needs of the Company.
    • Keeps up to date on proper procedures including, but not limited to: safety, compliance, paperwork, USDOT requirements, sampling and segregation of chemicals.
    • Work locations include universities and colleges, commercial and industrial facilities, government institutions and remote job locations, as well as the Kansas City Hazmat facility.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS in chemistry, or MS .
    • Experience in waste management services, lab packing, profiling and shipment of waste into hazardous and non-hazardous disposal facilities or similar service business experience a plus.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containers.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $28.00 - $48.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
