Job Summary
The Product Quality and Applications Chemist is responsible for the testing, documentation, and analysis of raw materials, finished goods, color matching and cured product applications to ensure and maintain customer satisfaction. They are also responsible for following all procedures and responsibilities in the ISO 17025 and 90001 quality manuals to maintain facility and lab accreditation. • This position requires the ability to match production schedule needs
Responsibilities
Quality testing, retention and cataloging of liquid materials
Data management, analysis and production of internal and external reports
Test cured samples of current products for the mechanical properties of customer specific applications.
Qualifications
Education Minimum Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Materials Science or an Associates’ Degree with 4 years laboratory experience.
Experienced Minimum Required:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial chemical, quality control or color laboratory
Experience in Lab testing, analysis, and equipment calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Excel experience for data recording, tracking, calculations, data analysis, graphing and charts
Experience in report writing and communicating work to other parts of the organization or customers
Job Specific Skills Minimum Required:
High ability to work in a fast-paced environment and change direction quickly.
Must be very self-motivated and have the ability to perform job requirements with only minor supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Well-organized and with good lab housekeeping habits
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills and a can-do attitude.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all organizational levels within the company.
Must have the ability to see and differentiate colors.
Flexibility in schedule to match production needs.
Preferred:
Polyurethane/Polyurea Laboratory Experience
Familiarity with Karl Fischer Titration, NCO and Hydroxyl % titrations
Experience with ISO 17025 or 9001
Courses in analytical chemistry/statistical analysis
