Job Summary:
The Director of TU Admissions is responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing the total student recruitment and admissions programs in support of the College’s mission, vision, and enrollment goals based on market trends and practices. This individual will collaborate internally and externally in order to lead TU efforts to attract and enroll a diverse and talented student body. This person will create a department vision which will include a vibrate team culture and staff professional development.
The Director of TU Admissions will consistently uphold Lancaster Bible College's commitment to embodying Christ’s directive for His diverse people to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:1-3). This dedication involves actively pursuing God’s vision for unity among His people, as outlined in Revelation 7:9-10.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Admissions Office, including oversight of the admissions team and continual assessment of office processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Personnel - secure staff needed to implement the recruitment program.
- Conduct searches for personnel as openings occur.
- Interview prospective employees, and in consultation with the President and Vice President of the college, secure appropriate personnel.
- Train and supervise Admissions personnel.
- Create a unity of purpose and foster teamwork in the Admissions Department.
- Provide regular feedback and suggestions to employees regarding performance, individual metrics, and professional development plans.
Recruitment - develop a recruitment plan in accordance with the philosophy of the College.
- Work with the Vice President of Enrollment Management to develop a strategic enrollment plan and targeted enrollment goals.
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and assess the recruitment plan for each of the college's primary target markets and new target markets.
- Determine geographical areas from which our students come and seek to develop new ones.
- Determine methods to be utilized in the recruiting of students and evaluate these methods.
- Establish annual goals for number of applications and number of new students in cooperation with the President and Vice President.
- Aggressively develop and objectively evaluate the programs of an Admissions Department.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in enrollment management, higher education, and student recruitment to recommend innovative strategies and initiatives.
Admissions:
- Oversee the Admissions process from prospective student to enrolled student, including the application, application review, acceptance, deposit, and registration.
- Facilitate the interview process for applicants.
- Work with the Vice President of Enrollment and Admissions Committee to determine acceptance or denial based on admission standards as determined by academic programs and leadership.
- Oversee the follow-up program for accepted students, including pre-registration.
Advertising:
- Work closely with the Vice President of Enrollment Management and marketing department to promote the College and develop promotional materials.
- Evaluate the advertising program as to cost effectiveness, number of responses, public image of the College, and development of new markets
Budget:
- Formulate and oversee the budget for the Admissions Department.
Committees:
- Serve on committees as directed by the Academic Dean and chair the Admissions Committee.
Financial Aid:
- Work with Financial Aid Director in reviewing applicant’s files and awarding discounts and scholarships in alignment with the college's direction and overall enrollment strategy.
- Strive to service students so that they are able to have adequate means to finance their education.
- Work with Vice Presidents and Scholarship committee to award special yearly scholarships.
Literature:
- Keep an accurate inventory of literature.
- Work with the Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing department to determine the type of literature needed to recruit students.
- Assist in the development of the literature pieces as needed.
Promotion of the College:
- Foster relationships with schools and churches that are supportive of the mission of the College and who provide prospective students.
- Plan the travel itinerary for the Admissions Department as it relates to strategic school and church visits, college fairs, conventions, and retreats.
Recruitment Activities:
- Coordinate Student Days and activities for Prospective Students.
- Work with the Athletic Director in the planning of tournaments and clinics.
Reports/Plans:
- Prepare the following reports: Institutional Data, Operational Plan, Board Reports, Admissions/Recruitment Reports, and Surveys.
- Provide regular updates to the Vice President of Enrollment Management including progress toward goals, potential opportunities, challenges and concerns, and relevant data both from internal Admissions efforts and external trends.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required; Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Admissions/Recruiting

- Computer proficiency, preferably in Word for Windows.
