    What You'll Do

    The Chief Development Officer will support the agency's mission, vision, and values by providing leadership and strategic visioning to the agency's philanthropy and marketing teams. The Chief Development Officer manages philanthropy professionals around the state, as well as the marketing and communications team. This position serves as a key point of contact for all external engagement opportunities. In addition to working closely with the President & CEO, this position is responsible for:


    • Applying a custom cultivation strategy to critical donors; strengthening relationships through appropriate and regular communication to increase overall giving.
    • Developing an annual budget for gift solicitations and fulfillments that reflect the agency's strategic growth goals.
    • Growing a portfolio of potential donors.
    • Fostering key stakeholder relationships.
    • Aligning internal and external communications with the agency's mission, vision, values, and brand.
    • Providing presentations to churches, legislators, and other key stakeholders.
    • Working with the Lutheran Disaster Response.
    • Serving as a liaison to LSI's Charitable Foundation board.
    • Growing a culture of engagement and stewardship among the agency's employees.

    What You'll Need

    Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, management, or a related field. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of full time in fund development, including management experience. Experience in marketing, strategic planning, managing major gifts, or estate gifts is preferred.


    Minimal travel to support relationships and fund development will be required.
