CHIEF CLINICAL OFFICER

  • The Chief Clinical Officer, under the administrative direction of the Executive Director, chairs, plans, and participates in agency and Affiliation Leadership Teams, committees, and work groups to ensure that clinical standards are met and agency/Prepaid Inpatient Health Provider (PIHP) mission is carried out.  This employee supervises, coaches, mentors, and evaluates program supervisors; promotes staff’s management skills, and advises regarding personnel issues; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of clinical programs and operations and develops processes and/or implements best practice models to address weaknesses. The Chief Clinical Officer provides vital resources to supervisors and staff including fiscal/budget support, equipment, facilities, support services, and information; communicates essential information to internal and external stakeholders, and performs related work activities as required.

    1.    Possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Health Care Administration or other health care professional disciplines associated with mental health.
    AND Have five (5) to seven (7) years of full-time work experience in an administrative capacity with a mental health or related human service agency.
    2.    Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.
    3.    Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.

    Preferred but not Required
    1.    Bilingual candidates highly desired.
    2.    Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
    3.    Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
    An employee in this class performs generally sedentary work activity requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less.

    The employee generally works in the administrative offices of HealthWest.EVALUATION CONTENT
    Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.
