Provides strategic direction of all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Chief Financial Officer may require the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief executive officer (CEO) or chief operating officer (COO). Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization.
