    Job Description

    The Company: Quality Testing, LLC (QT) has been helping owner agencies, contractors, construction managers, engineering consultants, and private developers achieve and document the quality of their construction activities and processes since the year 2000. As an Arizona based civil engineering firm, QT provides an array of construction quality program support services including workmanship verification through inspection and physical property quantification through materials testing.

    The Position: QT is seeking a Chief Construction Inspector / Lead Construction Inspector to assure that construction contract compliance is being achieved and documented, that nonconformities are being detected and rectified, and that construction quality is being controlled, documented, verified and accepted. Depending on future contract demands and resource availability, the individual(s) selected may also be considered for other QT contract positions with different working titles, but still with the primary responsibility of inspecting, documenting and evaluating construction work in progress.

    Job Requirements

    Job Requirements:

    • At least 5 years of experience in a lead role performing and/or overseeing inspection and materials testing activities on major heavy civil construction projects. Experience should include determining the acceptability of the constructed work, identifying and documenting non-conforming work, participating in compliance issue resolution, and measuring and paying for completed and accepted contract pay item quantities.
    • A blend of technical certification is preferred. Certification should include some, or all, of the following: ATTI, ACI, ATSSA, NICET, ICC, AWS, IMSA, Erosion Control. This list is not all inclusive and numerous other industry certifications may be beneficial. Continued professional development is important to QT and will be encouraged.
    • Schedule flexibility and a willingness to travel, both long and short-term depending on project needs, would be desirable.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
    • Must be detail oriented, comfortable working with numbers, and must have strong organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
    • Must be committed to researching and understanding project technical requirements, and be ready to lead support staff (on larger projects) in an effective manner toward common project goals.
    • Must be experienced and proficient using computerized analysis and reporting tools to document and evaluate construction compliance. Experience using various local agency specific construction documentation platforms would be beneficial.
    • Must have a commitment to both client and project owner satisfaction, and an ability to develop and maintain positive and productive working relations with co-workers, construction contractors, subcontractors, other consultant personnel, clients and owner representatives.

    Schedule and Compensation: This position is intended to be full time; however, alternate arrangements and schedules may be considered depending on a candidate’s specific skill set, experience, and existing schedule constraints. For full-time positions, we offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(K), Basic Life and AD&D Insurance, Disability Insurance, Paid Holidays and PTO). The starting wage for this position will be established on an individual basis, considering demonstrated skills in relation to market billability expectations.
