Chief Flight Inspector inspects aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure safe flying and conformance to specifications and government regulations and procedures. Oversees part installation and inspects adjustments or modifications to existing parts. Being a Chief Flight Inspector performs preflight and post flight inspections identifying any breach of standards for safe flight. Requires a high school diploma, a flight inspector license. Additionally, Chief Flight Inspector typically reports to top management. The Chief Flight Inspector typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.   • SUMMARY
    Provide safe, quality nursing care to critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital or hospital setting under the guidelines of state protocols and LifeNet standards of care.  Provide ongoing monitoring & nursing care during transport. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain the highest quality of patient care by carrying out established policies, procedures, and protocols.
    • Respond to requests for emergency medical care within prescribed time limits, providing both prehospital and continuation of continuity of hospital care
    • Utilize nursing process while providing a wide range of specialty care interventions and therapies
    • Demonstrate and maintain an in-depth knowledge base of disease processes.
    • Prepare and submit documentation of patient information according to LifeNet standards while keeping this information protected and private.
    • Complete annual continuing education requirements within time limits set forth by administration
    • Maintain operational readiness and professionalism by adhering to and maintaining consistency with the administrative and departmental policies regarding appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, and reliability
    • Follow LifeNet guidelines for customer service and marketing
    • Transport critically ill patients in different modes of transportation to include ambulance, rotor, or fixed wing operations
    • Provide continuing education/training for internal and external partners
    • Attend monthly departmental staff meetings
    • Monitor inventory and expiration dates of supplies
    • Monitor temperature and process monitoring of blood products
    • Adhere to LifeNet policies for narcotic storage and administration.
    • Inspect daily the general aircraft appearance and report any abnormalities to base lead and maintenance team.
    • Adhere to LifeNet SOP’s with regards to working with other divisions within LifeNet.
    • Provide timely notification to the Director of Specialty Care Services of any negative impact to LifeNet’s flight program that may occur while on or off duty
    • Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory requirements as described in the administrative and departmental policies and procedures
    • Maintain cleanliness of the helicopter, fixed wing, and base of operations
    • Achieve and maintain a high level of appropriate communication between team members, pilots, and the Communications Center to help ensure unit readiness.
    • Participate in pre-shift crew briefs with each oncoming pilot at the beginning of their shift
    • Maintain flight currency training as outlined by the flight department educator
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Current state license as a Registered Nurse in Texas, Arkansas or other compact state
    • Current EMT and /or Paramedic certification in both Texas and Arkansas (Paramedic preferred)
    • Minimum three years critical care experience as a Registered Nurse
    • Current state driver's license with acceptable driving record
    • Negative DOT drug screen.
    • Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, TNCC/ ITLS/ PHTLS, PALS/ PEPP/ ENPC certifications required
    • NIMS Training ICS 100, 200, and 700 within 90 days of employment offer
    • Must gain CFRN certification 1yr from time of signing job description
    • Maintain a weight of less than 240lbs while in full flight gear
    • Effective oral and written communications skills
    • Functional movement to include heavy lifting of patients and equipment within highly stressed environments

    • Climbing, kneeling, bending, standing, twisting, pushing, pulling, fine motor skills, reaching above shoulder level, lifting patients weighing greater than 250 pounds, driving or staffing an ambulance.

    • Hearing/listening, clear speech, upper and lower body flexibility, multiple physical & mental activities performed simultaneously.
