JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the FISO shall be responsible for overseeing and implementing the CHS Information Security Program throughout the facility with which they are associated. Information security policies, procedures, standards, and processes provided by the CHS Corporate Information Security Department shall serve as a basis for implementing facility-specific information security procedures and processes. Security functions which come under the leadership of the FISO encompass aspects of information technology (systems, networks, etc.), physical and environmental protections, and administrative and organizational aspects (training, planning, communications, etc.)The Facility Information Security Officer (FISAO) works with corporate IT security, local and corporate management, and the individual facility departments, committees, and staff to : ensure data security, integrity, and protection of CHS systems from external and internal threats, implement and maintain effective security compliance program, and ensure compliance with the security provisions of federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA standards.
MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience: Associate degree in Computer Science or related field, with four years of progressive experience in Electronic Medical Record system build and support with an emphasis on HIPAA and compliance training or education preferred.
In lieu of education, a minimum of seven years experience in Electronic Medical Record System build and support plus training or education on HIPAA requirements and/or Information security privacy requirements.
