    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Community Business Banking Officer plays a key role at 1st Security Bank and focuses on meeting the needs of the business community in assigned markets. The employee should have a strong reputation in the community and be highly visible in both community organizations as well as in the branches in their local market. This role serves as the business banker for new and existing customers and partners with branch employees to offer support and guidance on new relationships. Daily activities will focus on new client acquisition and the expansion of existing relationships. This is a sales and solutions position that develops new business, advises customers and bankers, and manages and retains business customer relationships.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Achieves assigned individual/team production goals focused on deposits, loans, and treasury products.

    • Regularly conducts in-person calls with prospects, centers of influence (COIs) and existing clients.

    • Develops a comprehensive understanding of client/prospect needs based on the review and analysis of personal and business financial data gathered through relationship reviews and/or prospect meetings with the intent to deliver value added financial services.

    • Promotes and markets a broad range of bank products and services to promote the customer WOW experience.

    • Completes visits to customers’ operations and documents observations; this may include visually inspecting the condition and value of loan collateral and evaluating customers’ management practices and expected repayment.

    • Establishes loan structure and terms, conditions and covenants, and collateral requirements consistent with the credit request and associated risks.

    • Prepares credit analysis and submits recommendations to supervisor or loan committee for action on existing loans and loan applications.

    • Manages assigned accounts with the objective of providing efficient customer services and maximizing return; this may include coordination with other teams and portfolio groups.

    • Actively builds and nurtures a client referral pipeline utilizing internal and external COIs.

    • Participates in local communities and business/service organizations for networking opportunities.

    • Develops a partnership team with business partners to facilitate a team environment and successfully recommend and deliver solutions to the customer.

    • Provides leadership and coaching guidance to assigned branch teams around sales strategies, prospecting efforts, joint business calling and cross-training.

    • Adheres to 1st Security Bank core values, policies, and procedures along with audit and compliance standards.

    • Represents the Bank with a high level of integrity and supports management directives in a positive and professional manner.

    • Performs other duties as assigned such as committee assignments and special projects.

    Qualifications


    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Degree in business, finance, or economics preferred.

    • Agricultural lending experience preferred.

    • 5 or more years Business Banking experience or equivalent.

    • 5 to 10 years overall progressive banking experience in sales/management.

    • Ability to demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that pertain to this position and keep current with ongoing regulation changes.

    • Knowledge of key bank regulations include, but not limited to, Know Your Customer, the Bank Secrecy Act, and Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures, and related programs.

    • Must be bondable.

     

    PREFERRED SKILLS

    • Proven ability to develop business relationships.

    • Strong networking and relationship management skills.

    • Working knowledge and understanding of treasury management products and services.

    • Strong credit analysis and commercial underwriting skills, including accounting, financial statement, and cash flow analysis experience.

    • Must have polished presentation and negotiation skills with customers and coworkers.

    • Communication-strong written, verbal, and interpersonal relationship skills.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and other database software.

    • Must be well organized as to time management, contact management and records management.

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Products and other Database software.
