Chief Medical Officer directs the staff and develops policies for the organization's clinical programs. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Being a Chief Medical Officer oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulations and standards. Evaluates developments and innovations in medical care and makes recommendations for new practices and procedures. Additionally, Chief Medical Officer advises CEO and medical teams on matters impacting patient care. Requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice Medicine. Typically reports to top management. SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, and directing Clinical Services within the healthcare system, including the development, implementation and administration of the Center's Health Care Plan, Performance Improvement Plan including the Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services, Medication Management, Surveillance, Prevention, and Control of Infection. The position also functions as a Provider of patient care and gives due consideration to productivity and departmental budget compliance. This position is also responsible for administrative, compliance and quality improvement procedures.
Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress and have the ability to organize and prioritize work. Must possess the ability to supervise staff effectively, such as problem-solving and conflict resolution, administering performance evaluations, and other necessary supervisory management skills.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a graduate of an approved and accredited Medical School.
Board certified or Board eligible in Family Practice or Internal Medicine. Must be licensed to Practice Medicine in the State of Louisiana and possess a Medical School Diploma, Board Certification Notification and/or Residency Training Certificate. Federal DEA and Louisiana CDS license.
Must have supervisory experience.
Must have clinical experience.
Knowledge of clinical operations is preferred.
Knowledge of quality improvement for health outcomes is desired.
SUPERVISES:
Directly supervises Director of RW Clinical Services, Staff Physicians, Mid-Level Providers, Psychiatrist, and Director of Nursing, and Behavioral Health Director.
