Chief of Surgery jobs in Maryland
Chief of Surgery directs the staff and programs of the surgical department. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Being a Chief of Surgery requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. Additionally, Chief of Surgery require extensive clinical experience. Typically reports to top management. The Chief of Surgery manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. Duties include:- Assisting physicians during office hours.
- Minor room procedures.
- Patient education.
- Pre-ops.
- Charting.
Requirements:- Must like a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication and nursing skills.
- Valid license to work in Maryland and Virginia.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience required.
- Plastic Surgery experience is a plus.
Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
