    Summary

    The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for facilitating efficient and seamless organizational operations for specific departments within the organization.  He/she/they will provide leadership and direction to employees in Quality Assurance, Database Administration, Information Technology, Facilities, and Operations to ensure all organizational goals and objectives are met.  The COO will train and mentor employees, prepare reports, collect and report out on data, and perform project management. 

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide oversight and management of daily operations, departmental structures, practices, and processes for Quality Assurance, Database Administration, Information Technology, Facilities, and Operations administrative departments;
    • Assess and refine methods and practices to ensure optimal operational effectiveness and efficiency;
    • Assist the CEO with development and execution of organizational strategies, initiatives, and projects that supports the organization’s mission and values;
    • Participate in the strategic planning process and translate strategic goals into defined operational/project plans for implementation;   
    • Develop comprehensive departmental goals for performance and growth strategies; and define clear steps for achievement of goals; 
    • Establish and define key performance metrics (KPIs) to monitor and assess customer satisfaction and quality ratings.  Hold departments accountable to these measures and for achieving results;
    • Redesign customer service activities and implement minimum standards used for all contact with customers by operational departments;
    • Develop, track, and report on useful performance measures to monitor;
    • Lead, inspire, and develop departmental leaders to ensure they attract, retain, and produce high performing teams.  Establish a culture of collaboration and continue improvement;
    • Ensure organizational compliance with accrediting bodies, funding agencies, and state regulation requirements;
    • Create, review, and revise all contracts, leases, and agreements;
    • Research and identify areas of opportunities for capital improvements across the organization; which includes opportunities to improve revenue, increase margin, minimize cost, and increase profitability;
    • Represent BEW in a variety of external meetings and committees.  Network with other agency executives to bring new funding ideas and resources to the organization;
    • Remain current with technological changes within the industry;
    • Assist with Request for Proposals (RPF)
    • Ensure all contracts meet established guidelines and conform to requirements set by BEW and outside reviewing agencies;
    • Responsible for planning, executing and managing all regulatory and compliance efforts;
    • Evaluate policies, procedures and controls to identify risks and work with impacted areas to develop corrective action plans;

    Qualifications


    • Master’s Degree required.
    • 5-10 years of demonstrated supervisory and administrative experience. Preference given to candidates with three or more years of executive level experience.
    • Operational leadership experience in healthcare not-for-profits strongly desired. 
    • Results oriented, with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Ability to serve as an organizational change agent, who can interact with individuals at all levels.
    • Strong capacity for managing, motivating, and leading teams.
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
