    Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Childcare Program Director to join our team! As a program director, you will oversee all aspects of education, curriculum, and activities for our students. You will choose programs, curriculum, and activities that align with our beliefs and educational mission, ensure compliance within classrooms, and help train staff. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of child development and education and can work well with staff and families alike to ensure educational, fun activities year-round.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Prepare, provide, and recommend on-going professional development for staff.
    2. Provide each staff member with individualized goal setting worksheet and provide bi-monthly follow-up and support.
    3. Complete a classroom observation for each classroom minimally on a bi-monthly basis, should be done more frequently based on staff goals or needs.
    4. Monitor curriculum assessment information used for planning, put into the online system, developmentally appropriate, and shared with parents at PT Conferences. Train staff as needed.
    5. Work with Director to create a program planning calendar on an annual basis.
    6. Track and maintain MiRegistry training requirements for each staff.
    7. Assist in implementing State of Michigan Licensing, and Health Department regulations.
    8. Maintain knowledge of the quality rating process and ensure compliance within the Center.
    9. Ensure that Center files on students, licensing regulations, and medical reports are created and maintained per State guidelines.
    10. Assist in the enrollment process for the Center by maintaining accurate waitlist, collecting documentation, completing
    enrollment paperwork and providing center tours prior to handing the child placement contract off to the Director.
    11. Maintain knowledge of Center policies and ensure building compliance.
    12. Prepare the staff meeting agenda. Gather staff information and materials to discuss.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
    2. Equivalent of two (2) years full-time successful recent work experience in a licensed childcare facility as head/lead teacher or
    comparable experience in lower elementary or equivalent.
    3. Management abilities sufficient for delivering quality program/service.
    4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be effective with children, parents and staff.
    5. Team oriented, organized and positive attitude.
    6. Ability to appropriately handle confidential matters/materials.
    7. Current First Aid Certification and CPR Certification to be continuing.
    8. Must have negative TB Test with subsequent testing as required.
