Civil Engineer jobs in Allentown, PA
Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. What will you be doing?
This position will be a key member of the Engineering team. Duties include:
- Site Development Plans
- Stormwater Management Plans and Design Reports
- Permit Applications for various regulatory agencies
What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?
This position will require the following skillsets and experience:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in PA
- Experience in Stormwater Management Plans & Permitting
- Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to collaborate with others on a design team
- Strong writing and communication skills
