Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. This is a full-time position, but for the right individual a 30-hour part-time position would be considered.

Opportunity | This position will be working under the direction of project managers to provide design support for civil engineering projects.
Depending on experience, tasks may include performing design calculations, project planning, development, and design; funding procurement; preparation of technical reports; preparation of construction plans and specifications; construction inspection and/or administration; site visits; collection of field data; working on a survey crew; and public presentations. |
Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Entry Level: 0 to 4 years of experience. Engineer Intern certification, or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
