Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed.     Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to be based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

    This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Support activities related to the FEMA National Flood Insurance (NFIP) and Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) Programs.

    • Assist with activities related to Coordinated Needs Management Strategy (CNMS) data and the validation assessment of flood hazard data.

    • Complete new hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses.

    • Builds analytic skills.

    • Conducts engineering under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    • Creates calculations, guidance, and processes under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

    • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

    • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.


    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

    • Due to the nature of work, ship is required.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • ArcMap and ArcPro experience

    • Microsoft Office experience

    • Experience with H&H modeling

    • Experience with the FEMA NFIP and Risk MAP Programs

    • Experience with FEMA CNMS


    Additional Information

    • Relocation is not available for this position.


    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $55,000.00 - $75,000.00.
