Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. Civil Science is currently seeking a qualified Field Engineer (Project Engineer) to join our expanding team in Salt Lake City or Lehi, Utah office. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for executing engineering tasks in various field environments related to the design and construction of local roadway and state DOT projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and meet quality standards. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in diverse settings.
