Civil Engineer jobs in Winston Salem, NC
Civil Engineer designs and supervises construction projects such as airports, bridges, channels, dams, railroads, or roads. Reviews designs, tests and assesses materials, and performs necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Being a Civil Engineer responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. May also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. Additionally, Civil Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Civil Engineer work is closely managed. What You’ll Do in This Role to Add Value
Support Landmark Builders and the Director of Engineering Services with site/civil design for prospective and contracted construction projects. This person will be responsible for handling various land development projects while working closely with pre-construction team, project management team and in-house survey team along with company clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform site feasibility analysis
- Coordinate survey and topography services
- Preparation of site plans to include site layout, landscaping, grading, erosion control, utility and storm water management design
- Perform technical engineering computations
- Assist Director of Engineering with requested assignments
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or 3-5 years of experience preferred
- PE registration in NC preferred or on track to obtain
- Knowledge of Autocad, Civil 3D and/or Stormwater modeling programs
- Self-motivated
- Team-oriented
