Additionally, Claims Analyst contacts policyholders about claims and may provide information regarding the amount of benefits. May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Claims Analyst gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • POSITION SUMMARY
    This position is responsible for accurate reporting and filing of claims to the respective Carrier, in addition to handling complex claims scenarios along with resolution of claims disputes. The Claims Analyst has a diverse subject matter expertise and functions as a high-level professional that provides guidance to the Customers, Producers and Sr. Leadership on more complex claim’s issues. The Claims Analyst is responsible for monitoring the assigned inventory of claims, answering phone calls, consulting on claims related issues. Duties also include: handling customer service calls as needed, claim reviews on an as needed basis, development and implementation of a formal claims management program.

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
    This role will serve as a liaison between clients, adjusters, service providers, and other parties who may be involved in a claim or an incident related to it. The role will include but not be limited to the following:
    • Reports to the Agency President on workflow issues and the handling of assigned claims inventory.
    • Understand Claims Handling guidelines and Workflows.
    • Ability to train in EPIC, including document uploads and complete tasks.
    • Ability to analyze insurance policies for coverage eligibility.
    • Reporting claims to assigned Carrier under appropriate lines of coverage.
    • Communicating with clients by phone; returning voice messages.
    • Emailing clients with timely responses.
    • Emailing Carriers for Follow up and Claims Status.
    • Processing incoming electronic and physical mail with appropriate filing and follow up.
    • Serving as a liaison between clients, carriers, adjusters, vendors, and contractors.
    • Communicating claims status with agency producers.
    • Conduct claim reviews as directed by the agency president.
    • This will include claim presentations and reviews in the field with customers when required.
    • Takes ownership of assigned work process and provides excellent customer service.
    • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
    Must maintain a license in good standing with the IN Department of Insurance.


    Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position.

    Must understand all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and comply with the requirements.

    NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
    • Three (3) – five (5) years’ insurance claims adjusting / handling experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of property & casualty insurance claims processing.
    • Good customer service skills.
    • Good PC skills
    • -proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.
    • Good communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to meet specific deadlines.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    EDUCATION
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Property & Casualty Insurance license required.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
    Ability to travel as needed for meetings, projects, seminars, etc.
