General Description:

The purpose of this job within the organization is to review landscape plans for compliance with zoning regulations and to inspect the installation of landscape materials. This job works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

Essential Job Functions:

Additional Duties:

Assists code enforcement as it relates to landscaping design and requirements. Assists with infrastructure plan reviews for upfits, fences, additions and single-family building plans as assigned.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of landscape design, construction, and engineering principles and practices.
• Knowledge of the use and adaptability requirements of both native and cultivated plants, shrubs, and trees in different landscaping situations.
• Knowledge of methods, materials and techniques in the construction, maintenance and repair of landscaped areas and sprinkler systems.
• Ability to calculate angular, linear and area measurements.
• Ability to compute volumes and quantities.
• Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations or tight deadlines.
• Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally, demonstrates appropriate customer service skills.
• Ability to perform inspections on challenging terrain in summer/winter conditions.
• Work is performed onsite. The incumbent must be present at work to perform the essential functions of this job.
