Claims Manager manages the operations of an insurance claims department to meet operational, financial, and service requirements. Oversees the intake and processing of insurance claims for personal, property, or casualty loss based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage. Being a Claims Manager manages appraisal and examination staff and processes. Assures timely and proper disposition of claims based on policy provisions. Additionally, Claims Manager recommends and implements best practices to ensure complete and thorough claim settlements, legal reviews, and investigations following company policies and insurance industry regulations. Determines the value of settlements for escalated claims. Manages negotiations of settlements and administration of claims in litigation. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Claims Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Claims Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. As a claims adjuster trainee, you’ll learn how to help customers get back on the road after an accident. This is not a field position which means you’ll be building relationships with customers over the phone. In a fast-paced environment, you’ll learn how to resolve a full case load of claims efficiently while managing the claims process from start to finish. You’ll have the support of a collaborative team and ongoing coaching from leaders. We’ll also teach you the insurance stuff – providing in-depth training on property damage and insurance contracts so you can confidently and independently adjust claims.
This is a hybrid role, which meansyou’llwork in-office two days that are selected by local leadership and choose where you want to work the other three days, whetherthat’sat home or in the office, for a period of 12 months. After that period, the daysyou’llbe expected to report to an office for important meetings, training, and collaborationwill vary based on business need. Inthis hybrid work environment,you’llbe supported by your leaders and tenured colleaguesto develop relationships,establishconnections, and share practices that are important to your development.If you prefer an in-office environment, you’re welcome to work in the office as often as you would like.
