Claims Processing Clerk receives and inputs new healthcare claims, processes payments, researches billing issues, and responds to email and telephone inquiries. Evaluates claims and administers payment, denies, or returns claims according to policy provisions and organizational guidelines. Being a Claims Processing Clerk produces routine and ad hoc reports. OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB: To provide administrative support to ensure efficient, effective operations of the office and provide services as a Passport Agent. Responsible for confidential and time sensitive materials and must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalency.
WORK EXPERIENCE: 1 – 3 years working experience in office environment, business and/or bookkeeping capacities is helpful. Or, any acceptable combination of equivalent training and/or education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:
1. Process, review & transmit passports on a daily basis. Required to take a yearly test to be certified by the Passport Agency.
2. Acts as the point of contact for the US Department of State and ensures up to date compliance with all Passport forms and procedures.
3. Provides information to the US Department of State on an annual basis for the Oversight Inspection Audit.
4. Performs data entry with accuracy on all Clerk of Courts Judgment case types.
5. Oversees, tracks and processes all returned mail and corresponds with the litigates to maintain up to date records.
6. Tracks and coordinates all insufficient filings.
7. Coordinates with the courts daily to track files and sign out files as needed.
8. Prepares certified copies of records for litigants.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Works indoors in adequate office space, lighting, temperatures and ventilation.
2. Works with average indoor office exposure to noise, stress and disruptions.
3. Normal indoor exposure to dust/dirt.
4. Relative to postal duties, there is exposure to all weather conditions.

8. Must possess ability to pay attention to details, accuracy and concentrate on work.
9. Must be able to handle high volume and variety of work to be able to switch from one duty to another.
10. Must be able to complete an annual test to be a certified acceptance agent for the US Department of State as a passport agent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to sit for long periods throughout the workday, with intermittent periods of reaching, standing, walking, bending, twisting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and stooping as necessary to carry out job duties.
2. Requires coordinated dexterity requirements range from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands, feet/legs/torso as necessary to carry out job duties.
3. Sedentary work, with occasional lifting/carrying of objects with a maximum weight of thirty-five pounds.
4. Must demonstrate emotional stability.
5. Must be able to cope with the physical and mental stress of the position.
6. Must be able to pay close attention to details and concentrate on work.
