GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: A variety of clerical duties including, but not limited to, all election tasks; data entry, voter registration, inventory of election supplies, and ordering as necessary. Verifying signatures on petitions, accepting filing of candidates, balancing candidate’s financial disclosure reports. Preparing ballots, loading the voting machines, contacting election workers to work at polling places. Recording duties, passport agent, and all other duties assigned by supervisor.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Will be trained primarily by deputy clerks.
NECESSARY SKILLS: The ability to accurately perform multiple detailed tasks in a fast-paced environment which will include: responsibilities of elections, typing and keyboarding; working in a professional manner with the public and other personnel interdependent with clerk’s office; receiving and precisely account for money; answering the telephone, computer data entry; and all other duties assigned by supervisors. The ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality and ethical standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May be required to lift or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks. This position will be required to work evenings and/or weekends depending on the needs of specific elections.
TASKS: Tasks are not limited to but include a variety of physical activities, occasionally involving muscular activity, such as lifting and bending. Attention to detail, ability to problem solve and multi-task.
WAGE: $17.00 per hour or more DOE.
