The Director of Claims Procurement is responsible for the overall supplier procurement strategy related to Claims services procured from a third party. This position will report to the VP of Procurement in the Global Procurement Organization. The Claims category consists of Auto, Property, Workers’ Compensation, and Medical Services.
• Own the development and execution of the Procurement strategy for assigned spend categories.• Analyze spend trends, supplier markets and recommend savings opportunities.• Assist Operating Units to develop a listing of preferred suppliers.• Create and maintain scorecards and metrics for assigned categories.• Create and manage complex sourcing events for products and services.• Draft, negotiate and review contracts and supplier agreements.• Interface with Operating Units and stakeholders to understand unique requirements and opportunities to better tailor current processes to end users’ needs.• Manage and cultivate relationships with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders.
Experience• 10 years recent experience within a Procurement function in a large or medium sized company managing Claims related spend areas.• Prior Claims experience a plus.• Experience in Claims spend including detailed knowledge of advanced procurement methods and techniques.• Able to manage and deliver individual workload in addition to providing guidance and coaching other team members.• Experience executing contracts in a Financial Services company and a regulated environment having worked with stakeholders including Third Party Risk Management, Information Security, Finance and Business Resilience in addition to Legal. • Demonstrated competencies in the Strategic Procurement process.• Proficient in building and delivering business cases, presentations, and managerial reports to senior management.• Experience with supplier market research and data analysis.• Experience with P2P systems and contract management tools.
