Claims Supervisor jobs in Milwaukee, WI

• Supervise direct reports, make recommendations for performance management and disciplinary action. Train subordinates to achieve goals. In addition, contribute to the new employee selection process.
• Investigate and resolve assigned surety and fidelity bond claims including license and permit, financial guarantee, and probate, some with a higher complexity level or greater exposure.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authority limits.
• Pursue salvage and/or take necessary steps to minimize losses or preserve assets for recovery.
• Manage the workflow and claim assignments for the commercial branch of claim department.
• Work with internal and external auditors to explain policies, procedures, and controls.
• Identify future department needs to meet company goals and objectives.
• Assist Claim Support Supervisor in identifying, implementing, and improving existing processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years of related experience, including management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working as a Commercial Claims Supervisor requires one to work independently and effectively within a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products is necessary. Other skills necessary include excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and accurate proofreading skills, the ability to maintain accurate records, the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information, strong attention to detail, and the ability to use a variety of office equipment.
