Summary
Peninsula Custom Homes (PCH) is looking for a dedicated Project Manager. This role works alongside the Project Superintendent from start to finish of the building process and is responsible for overall project profitability and schedule. The Project Manager also oversees quality of work, productivity and safety, manages client and team relationships, and mentors, trains and develops internal team members.

Project Manager Role Description
Employment Type: Full Time, On Site

Expectations:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project (or similar), Bluebeam, Viewpoint Vista, Sharepoint,
- Experience with project management software
- Professional, detailed, organized

- Strong problem solving-skills; demonstrated ability to responsibly deal with issues/problems as they arise
- Anticipate potential issues and be proactive in finding solutions
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, architects, designers, all field personnel, and PCH staff
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively delegate work to others
- Mentorship of project engineers
Responsibilities (top five functions):
- Responsible for project profitability
- Work with Project Superintendent to bring project in on schedule
- Training and development of resources (PCs/PEs/Interns)
- Monitor quality of work and productivity
- Manage and maintain client and team relationships
Skills (regular tasks):
- Analyze proposals and recommend subcontractors for project
- Formulate estimates
- Issue and approve change orders
- Track overall project costs by performing monthly cost projections
- Conduct annual performance evaluations
- Work with project coordinator to build working MS Project schedule
- Analyze schedule to anticipate and avoid potential schedule delays and manage client's expectations
- Monitor and promote jobsite safety
- Inform personnel of PCH policies as appropriate
- Attend weekly jobsite meetings
- Develop systems for efficiency
- Standardize field operations
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar field a plus
- 5 years' experience in residential construction role, including project management, preconstruction, and operations experience required
- 2 years' experience in high-end custom residential construction preferred
- Proven in depth knowledge and understanding of construction operations and processes required
- Able to read and comprehend architectural, structural, MEP, Landscape, reports and shop drawings required
- Possesses a valid CA Driver's License, good driving history and dependable transportation required
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check required
- Previous mentorship of project engineers, plus a desire to be a mentor preferred
- Proficient with computer skills working with various programs including MS Word, Excel and Project, Bluebeam, ERP software program, and construction project management software required
- Demonstrated knowledge of local, state and federal quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites preferred
- English/Spanish bilingual a plus
- Experience with Viewpoint Vista a plus
Physical Requirements:
- General physical tasks including:
- Traversing at job sites on uneven terrain
- Move items up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 2/3 of the time
- Operating a computer and/or iPad and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer
