GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for the materials control function of
performing daily tasks concerning products through all operations of
Flat Products, inventory, and to assure prompt and efficient flow of
material. Will follow plans as laid out by Planners/Supv/Mgr
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Order Inquiries
- Must be able to understand current order status and leadtimes
and communicate effectively with inside sales
2. Program to lines
- Will keep in contact with operations to ensure all priorities are
being processed at lines in a timely manner
-Distribute matl to the lines as directed by Planners/Supv/Mgr
- Assigns material to open orders taking into consideration
order quantities, customer requirements and on time delivery.
3. Retentions/AQNS
- Release retentions based on solutions provided or after proper review
- Enter ANQS's as needed in order to have material reviewed or held
4. Stock
-Continually reviews stock to determine if material can be used for
new open orders. Follows up all possibilities with sales.
5. Regularly reviews all material processed at cold mill to ensure
a smooth continual flow and also to ensure the correct lots are
being produced and packaged.
6. Supports projects as needed from Level 8 Planners/Supv/Mgr
7. Knows how to find and follow all pertinent job related work
instructions per ISO 9000.
8. Lotting slabs/coils
-Able to find/run/print lots to cover report for lotting needs
-Follow MS Planner's plan for covering open needs
-Follow solutions for customer specific needs as given by AQNS solutions
-Route matl based on current standards/needs, identify to QC lots that are missing routings
9. Matching/Shipping Bills
-Regularly throughout the shift, match coils that have been solutioned. Move coils with quality not to customer
needs to other less critical orders
-Build shipping bills regularly throughout shift and as requested
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalence.
2. Knowledge of material defects a plus.
3. Knowledge of AS 400 application and moderate speed on the keyboard
preferred.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
All things associated with working on a computer such as; hand movements (moderate speed on the keyboard), eye strain, and sitting (8-12 hours).

5. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy.
6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
