Job Description
CEA Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Radar / Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Field Engineering Technician to provide operation & sustainment support to a system of radar threat emulators being integrated into the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (Ridgecrest CA). CEA Technologies specializes in state-of-the-art element-level Digital Beam Formed (DBF) Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, communications & missile illumination systems for land & maritime environments.
The successful candidate will initially spend 60-90 days training & orientation traveling between various locations within the Nevada Test & Training Range and Ridgecrest CA (Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division). After completion, this will be complemented potentially in 2024 or 2025 by extensive on-the-job training at our parent company's facility in Canberra, Australia for approximately 2-4 weeks to become knowledgeable of all aspects required to support these unique CEA systems.
Responsibilities / tasks include:
1. Perform complex maintenance on all aspects of the radars covering various digital, RF, power & cooling hardware utilizing commercial manuals, OEM supplied documentation to include drawings / schematics & computer-based diagnostic tools. Maintenance activities will include:
· Planned maintenance (inspections, servicing, calibration)
· Corrective maintenance (troubleshooting, fault detection / isolation, screening, repair)
2. Support the operation of the radars on various DoD test ranges including:
· Setup / teardown & performing serviceability assessment
· Support during remote field deployment & troubleshooting software & hardware anomalies
· Waveform validation
· Limited on-site corrective maintenance
· Diagnosing malfunctions & replacing components
· Detailed inspection, record keeping & administration
· Operate & maintain radar systems & associated power / cooling peripheral equipment
· Assist with training US government / range contractor personnel
3. Document your work according to the processes, standards & confidentiality guidelines
4. Understand & comply with Safety, Security, Export, Information Technology rules & guidelines
5. Work in remote work areas, indoors & outdoors, at elevated heights (~20 feet) & in confined spaces
6. Lift up to 50 pounds
7. Ensure a professional, proactive & customer-oriented approach to the support of the radar systems
8. Communicate & maintain a quality management plan including conformance & continuous improvement initiatives
9. Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
1. Five years minimum demonstrated experience in the operation & / or sustainment of complex military electronic systems – ideally radar & EW systems
2. Associate degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., electronics, RF communications, etc.)
3. Prior field experience
4. Ability to adapt to a changing environment & handle multiple priorities
5. Eager to apply your technical skills to learn new radar system operational concepts & apply that knowledge in the field
6. Willingness & ability to work in varying weather conditions
7. Possess technical & interpersonal skills necessary to perform in a tightly integrated team of engineers & technicians as well as independently in the field during high visibility exercises
8. Must be capable of achieving a U.S. DoD SECRET clearance within six months of employment. Active DoD SECRET clearance preferred.
9. Knowledge of & experience maintaining electrical, electronic, environmental, hydraulic & mechanical principles relating to radar & EW systems
10. Must be willing & able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of domestic locations & for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs
