SUMMARY
¨ Works under the direction of the Operations Trainers
¨ Rotating assignments in multiple units to observe operations of refinery departments
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
¨ Know proper safety procedures for operating in and around the process areas in the refinery
¨ Be able to describe operating equipment; pumps, compressors, fans and other process equipment
¨ Perform housekeeping duties as required
¨ Read and follow all applicable guidelines and procedures
¨ Shadow/observe operations personnel to obtain working knowledge of day-to-day operation of refinery units
¨ Perform fireguard responsibilities
¨ Be able to identify and apply pertinent sections of PSM
¨ Successfully complete Operator Trainee Safety Audit
¨ Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by supervision
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Must have completed at least one semester in a specified technical program at Shelton State Community College or Bevill State Community College.
