Description
CSO is looking for a Credentialing and Collections Manager.
This position will perform and ensure all required agency billing functions are performed in an accurate and timely manner and in compliance with agency policies as well as governmental regulatory requirements. This role also provides ongoing supervision to billing staff and performs billing functions as needed.
You Will
As a Credentialing and Collections Manager:
- Supervise day-to-day operations within the billing department, ensuring accurate claims are sent successfully and in a timely fashion to 3 rd party payers, claim error reports are monitored to correct claims, payments are posted regularly, client statements are sent on a regular basis, and all client calls are answered in a professional and timely manner
- Train staff in proper billing practices/procedures and use of billing system; recommend changes to procedures and systems; ensure all billing staff have up-to-date knowledge of payer contracts, rates and proper billing procedures; maintain updated billing procedures
- Oversee agency-wide efforts related to third party billing to ensure maximum collections, including credentialing, client eligibility, billing, EOB review, re-bills and collections
- Ensure that client eligibility is checked on a daily basis
- Ensure all billable services are coded with correct CPT codes and modifiers for providers to ensure accurate payment for categories of services provided
- Ensure billing is processed accurately and compliant with government rules and regulations; act as liaison to payers to maximize reimbursement for services rendered
- Maintain communication with payers, clients, and agency staff related to eligibility, billing, and authorization guidelines/procedures
- Work with billing department staff to promote individual professional development/growth in line with departmental continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure pursuit of collections of aged receivables following agency collections policies and procedures
- Monitor and prepare reports on aged receivables, cash receipts, contractual adjustments and recommended write-offs; produce and maintain reports as required to satisfy needs of accounting and management
- Monitor processing and posting of EOB’s, re-bill processes, and co-pay collections; ensure timely processing of all bills (either electronic or hard-copy)
- Serve as backup for Billing Systems Manager as well as Billing/Collection and Billing/Credentialing Specialists as needed, performing direct billing functions to ensure up-to-date billing entry maintenance
Qualifications
Your Background:
- College degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Three years of experience with third party billing/claims support in behavioral health or related field
- Prior management/supervisory experience
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
