The Therapeutic Recreational Specialist will collaborate with other Recreational Specialists in order to develop innovative activities for the patients that they are assigned to. The Recreational Specialists will also communicate with the Registered Nurses and Psychiatrists on their team about any updates regarding the patient's progress.
The Therapeutic Recreational Specialist will be joining the Behavioral Health Department at a well established medical center. The Therapeutic Recreational Specialist will play a vital role in the development of positive activities which contribute to the overall health and well being of the patients. The Recreational Specialist will supervise all of the Activity Therapy programs and will be responsible for patient assessment, treatment planning and implementation of new activities. They will encourage participation and provide guidance to both patients and staff when leading planned activities. The Therapeutic Recreational Specialist will accurately document patient progress and report any changes to their multidisciplinary team. They will focus on providing creative and meaningful outlets for the patients in order to help improve their mental and physical health.
The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist will have the amazing opportunity to live in a location that enjoys an average of 300 days of sunshine a year! The beautiful weather encourages residents to get outside and enjoy the vast range of scenic landmarks and partake in exciting outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and rafting.
