An award-winning teaching hospital near Staten Island is searching for an experienced OR Nurse Educator to join their team!

This acute care facility is home to 400 beds, an adult/pediatric trauma center, NICU, robotic surgery, oncology, pediatrics, and a family birthing pavilion! This hospital utilizes the latest in technology and evidence-based practices, and a patient first philosophy.

The Nurse Educator is responsible for facilitating the development of clinical excellence in the Surgical Services Department through active participation in orientation, training/role transition, internships/externships, career development, continuing education/continued competence and academic partnerships.

Job responsibilities for this role include integrating current published research and literature into all learning activities, maintaining knowledge of national and local trends in nursing practice, creating, planning, and implementing orientation for individuals new to the nursing unit/department. This RN Educator will also be responsible for creating and coordinating activities related to training of new graduate nurses, and participating in Committees, Task Forces, meetings and activities to represent Nursing Education and contribute to the attainment of the Nursing Department goals as objectives. This is a M-F, 7 am - 3:30 pm position in which you have oversight of 11 state-of-the-art OR's.

The Nurse Educator role will require:

• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting
• 3 years OR/Surgical exp(minimum)
• Master’s degree
• CNOR license
• Prior experience as a nurse educator (preferred)
