Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Coding Specialist to join our multi-specialty healthcare team. Excellent Pay and Industry Leading Benefits. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding of medical records, facilitating efficient billing processes, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, particularly ICD-10 and DRG classifications.

Coding Experience in Podiatry, Cardiovascular, Veins, Geriatrics and Primary Care, not required but a plus.

Duties

• Review and analyze medical records to extract relevant information for coding purposes.
• Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered using ICD-10 and other coding systems.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines related to medical billing and coding practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accuracy in coding.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes, updates in medical terminology, and billing practices.
• Assist in the resolution of any discrepancies or issues related to medical collections or billing inquiries.
• Support the overall efficiency of the medical office by managing medical records accurately and securely.

Experience

• Proven experience in medical coding, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, DRG classifications, and various coding systems is essential.
• Previous experience in medical billing or collections is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications related to medical records management.
