The Contract Manager/Compliance Paralegal at Ames Construction plays a critical role assisting the General Counsels, ensuring adherence to legal requirements, and supporting in-house counsel. This position demands an understanding of contracts law, compliance, and effective collaboration with legal staff.
What You'll Do:
Contract review, preparation and alignment.
Conduct compliance training and audits.
Draft various vendor agreements (subcontract, material, service).
Ensure alignment of vendor agreements with prime contract requirements.
Calendar and manage deadlines.
Maintain contract templates and guidelines to ensure compliance consistency.
Manage contract modifications, amendments, and extensions as necessary.
Assist in negotiating contract terms and conditions.
Identify potential risks and legal issues within contracts and propose mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with legal counsel to address complex legal matters.
Work closely with estimating and project teams to align contract management with business objectives.
Identify opportunities to improve contract management processes and drive operational efficiency.
What You'll Bring:
5 years of experience as a Contract Manager/Paralegal, including experience reviewing, preparing, and managing contracts.
Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and project management software.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic work environments.
Exceptional editing and proof-reading skills.
