Clinical Pharmacist directs and develops research of existing and new prescription drugs and conducts utilization reviews to develop guidelines for usage, prior authorization, and updates to formulary. Monitors patient data on drug therapies outcomes, reactions, and errors. Being a Clinical Pharmacist provides education and outreach to medical staff on prescribing guidelines, alternative drug therapies, and risk mitigation. Administers a prior authorization program. Additionally, Clinical Pharmacist requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or supervisor. Requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). This Hospital specializes in a broad range of patient care such as trauma, cancer, stroke and rehabilitation. This highly awarded hospital has recently been awarded Patient Safety Excellence.

    The Acute Care Pharmacy Manager will work in collaboration with the tenured Pharmacy Director and other healthcare leaders. The Hospital Pharmacist will oversee exceptional Pharmacists, and a talented team of Pharmacy Technicians. Additionally, the Acute Care Pharmacist will work with experienced MD’s, exceptional Nurse Practitioners and supportive Physicians. The Pharmacist Manager will support inpatient, ambulatory, cancer and orthopedic patients.

    The Acute Care Pharmacist Manager will lead the operation and management of this dynamic healthcare system. The Pharmacist Manager’s expertise will guide the pharmacy policies and procedures ensuring quality care for each patient. Drug procurement, distribution, storage and administration will also be the Pharmacist Manager’s responsibility.  The Hospital Pharmacist will continue to monitor the patient's progress and evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the patient's medication. By working in collaboration with patient’s physicians and other providers the team will create a care plan for individuals. Pharmacist’s with leadership experience and an interest in rural healthcare will surely make for a quick interview.
