The Supervisor of Clinical Pharmacy Department will be accountable for the planning and operational management of the hospital Pharmacies. The Pharmacy Supervisor will ensure the delivery of quality patient care through implementation of effective and efficient policies and procedures and cost-effective issues.
The Supervisor of Clinical Pharmacy Services will assist the Pharmacy Operations Manager in coordinating daily organizational and operational activities of the pharmacy department to provide for a well-organized and efficiently operating department. This position will also directly supervise Pharmacists and Technicians supporting Central Pharmacy Distribution and will be responsible for scheduling, training, counseling and evaluating these staff. This position will act as the pharmacist in charge in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
The Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor will monitor and maintain labor productivity and financial data within the department. The Supervisor of Clinical Pharmacy will also provide leadership in planning, budgeting, formulary management, standardization of processes, and implementation of strategic plans, best practice clinical programs and cost saving initiatives.
The ideal candidate for Clinical Pharmacy Department Supervisor should have at least one year of hospital pharmacy experience, outside of internship or residency rotations with active Oregon Pharmacist License. Completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency and Supervisory experience are preferred. Experience in Sterile Compounding and USP 797/800 is also preferred.
