Job Title: Clinical Research Assistant
Department: Research
Reports To: Research Coordinator/ HR Director
BASIC FUNCTION:
To assist Research Coordinator with assigned responsibilities and provide an appropriate medical environment to assure high quality care. Has access to patient’s charts to perform job functions listed below.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Print weekly/daily schedule
- Compare patient appointments between Athena and Studyteams
- Audit study patients for upcoming visits; add appointments into Studyteams/Athena, as necessary
- Answer and make calls, as necessary
- Contact patients to confirm appointment date & times
- Schedule/reschedule patients, as needed
- Identify potential patients
- Review potential patient charts for study inclusion/exclusion criteria
- Create patient cases in Athena
- Chart prep for following week
- Prep rooms for study visits
- Clean rooms after study visits
- Remove dirty linen at the end of each day
- Run patients
- Conduct visits: Informed consents, source documents, scales, EKG, adverse reporting, as needed
- Draw blood, urine collection, processing, shipping labs
- Obtain and review medical records for data collection
- Label/number subject source documents
- Scan charts into research records (K:) drive
- Data entry, as needed
- Answer queries, as needed
- Complete required study trainings
- Obtain outside records/MRI discs, if needed
- Process MRI orders, as needed
- Conduct chart audits: compare data in EDC, address queries, make corrections as needed
- Create enrollment packets
- Check lab supply stock and expiration dates on weekly basis
- Order lab supplies as needed
- Process, deliver, retrieve TB samples; SVH lab
- Obtain dry ice when needed
- Conduct BVK visits
- Invoice for patient/caregiver stipends
- Create and update source documents, as needed
- Document weekly temperature averages
- Run monthly temp log
- Run Athena reports for potential patients
