Job Title: Distribution Specialist

Purpose of the Job:
This position is responsible for both domestic and international shipments. The primary responsibility is to ensure that the accuracy of shipments are accurate and adheres to regulations and good distribution practice as described by the local regulating authority. Preparing documents using Imperial’s order processing systems is crucial in domestic and international shipments. Daily communication with internal and external contact including Imperial operations, distribution services, small parcel couriers, and freight forwarders to support the on-time arrival of shipments. Responsible for operating the Quality Management Systems (QMS), and co-authoring procedures and processes to support the QMS development. Has a responsibility to assure that a controlled system is used to accomplish quality processes and maintain regulatory and procedural compliance.
Job Functions and Performance Standards:
• Responsible for picking/packing/reviewing shipments (domestic & international) for clinical trial materials/products to a list of identified locations. Ensuring compliance with local shipments and customs rules and regulations
• Daily communication with project managers, project assistants, distribution department, couriers, and freight forwarders regarding compliance and shipment issues
• Providing Pre-Approval Notification for informal and formal clearance exports
• Learn and follow global logistics and compliance of Schedule B / HTS Codes and INCOTERMS 2010
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems. Refers only the more complex issues to higher-level staff
• Works with Facilities Managers to maintain compliance as needed
• Maintaining accurate customer inventories
• Ensures that products are in good condition and documents are accurately completed.
• Prepare LTL freight shipments for pickup
• Verify and electronically enter jobs (products) into the warehouse system
• Physically put skids into bay locations using a reach truck or forklift
• Pick items using a hi-lo truck or an order picker
• Count and consolidate items in the warehouse. Participate in and carry out basic inventory duties, including cycle count
• Pull obsolete products and assist in the destruction process
• Able to work well as part of a team as well as unsupervised and must be able to communicate well with others
• Follows established SOP’s & Work Instructions.

Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
