Cloud Systems Architect is responsible for the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. Evaluates and identifies the best cloud solutions for the organization. Being a Cloud Systems Architect develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms. Ensures the security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy. Additionally, Cloud Systems Architect monitors and analyzes cloud infrastructure performance to identify and resolve issues proactively. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud-based environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Designs controls and processes that utilize available audit tools. Maintains up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Cloud Systems Architect works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     Overview

    As a Cloud Engineer you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our cloud environment meets the needs of our business, including security, performance, administration, management, monitoring, and cost optimization.

    Core Responsibilities

    Cloud Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with architecture teams to design scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions

    Deployment and Automation: Implement cloud resources and services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform for cloud automated provisioning and management

    Security: Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments by implementing best practices and industry standards. Manage access control and encryption

    Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost-effectiveness, including auto-scaling and resource utilization

    Troubleshooting: Respond to and resolve cloud-related incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis. Provide after-hours incident support as needed

    Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity

    Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures

    Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, Development, and IT teams to support application deployment, integration, and continuous delivery processes

    Stay Current: Keep up to date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices to make informed recommendations for improvements

    Skill Qualifications

    Required:

    Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role

    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure networking

    Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell

    Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, Kubernetes is a plus

    Understanding of cloud security best practices

    Security, identity, and access management: IAM, RBAC in the cloud

    Storage and archiving in the cloud

    Azure disaster recovery and continuity

    Basic monitoring techniques in a dynamic environment.

    Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

    Strong communication and teamwork skills

    Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

    Strong interpersonal skills

    Analytical and problem solving skills

    Takes a proactive approach to identify areas needing improvement and develops plans to address them

    Provides after-hours incident support

    Education and Experience Qualifications

    Required:

    BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or related equivalent experience)

    7-10 years of IT experience including proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, administration and support in an enterprise environment or equivalent combination of training and experience

    Certification in cloud technologies, Azure is preferred
