Cloud Systems Architect is responsible for the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. Evaluates and identifies the best cloud solutions for the organization. Being a Cloud Systems Architect develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms. Ensures the security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy. Additionally, Cloud Systems Architect monitors and analyzes cloud infrastructure performance to identify and resolve issues proactively. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud-based environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Designs controls and processes that utilize available audit tools. Maintains up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Cloud Systems Architect works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     Responsibilities

    We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to support a federal government customer in Las Vegas, NV.

     

    The Cloud Engineer is required to provide superior technical knowledge and infrastructure experience to successfully deliver the availability, security, and operations of a varied and complex heterogeneous network. Knowledge of high-level functional systems of analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation solutions is required. You will assist management and peers with analysis and evaluation of new and existing products, preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance.

     

     

    Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities

    • Work closely with Engineering teams and project stakeholders to deliver needed solutions in a timely manner.
    • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation which includes solution requirements, use cases, system dependencies, test plans, build and deployment processes, usage guides, build artifacts, and release notes.
    • Collaboratively design and implement custom cloud solutions which satisfy project requirements.

    Qualifications

    Required Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies

    • U.S. Citizenship is required. (no dual citizenship permitted)
    • Ability to obtain a clearance or a current DOE Q or TS clearance
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or related technical discipline OR 4 years professional IT experience may be used in lieu of degree.
    • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience with a preference in cloud and systems engineering.
    • Experience with AWS, and other cloud providers.
    • Experience with Cybersecurity or Cloud security practices.
    • Adept at configuring a range of cloud native, and cloud agnostic capabilities, and experience in recommending the best solution given specific requirements for any given project.
    • Research new and emerging Cloud and Cybersecurity solutions to solve client challenges.
    • Experience with implementing and configuring IT infrastructure systems, including operating systems, applications, databases, firewalls, and network.
    • Experience with scripting and API integrations.
    • Knowledge of vulnerability assessments, security testing, and intrusion detection.
    • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts.
    • Expert in Cybersecurity concepts.
    • Knowledge of Cyber threats as they relate to Cloud environments.
    • Familiarity and experience using the cybersecurity tools, technologies and products:  Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other cloud tools, technologies and products: AWS Configuration Manager, AWS GuardDuty, AWS Secrets Manager, AWS Parameter Store, Web Application Firewalls, AWS CloudWatch, Twistlock, Secrets, Key Management Services (KMS).
    • Knowledge of Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Provide Cloud security engineering support to civil and commercial groups.
    • Design and implement Cloud security controls for cutting-edge technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its toolset, Kubernetes, Docker, Twistlock, WAF, and compliance tools.
    • Build and review network and firewall configurations, configure Nessus scanners, deploy Cloud endpoint agents, and implement Cloud platform best practices.
    • Apply modern development and hosting concepts, including DevSecOps, automation and orchestration to deliver highly secure, resilient, scalable, and efficient solutions.
    • Familiarity with FEDRAMP, TIC, and other federal government programs and requirements compliance.
    • Password, Secrets, and key management cloud solution experience.
    • Experience with DevOps platforms and tools (Jira, git, Jenkins, Ansible).
    • A strong understanding of git, Bitbucket, or similar technologies.
    • Modern programming skills in any language, including version control, test-driven development, and debugging.
    • Knowledge, experience, and scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
    • Familiarity with the fundamentals of agile project management.
    • Familiar with compliance frameworks, security best practices, and product security baselines.
    • Experience using configuration management tools in a production environment (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.).
    • Strong IT background, including strong networking, systems and application knowledge, experience and training.
    • Ability to communicate with stakeholders of varying technical and non-technical skillsets.
    • Must obtain and maintain the compliance with NICE 800-181 certification (e.g.CISM, CCISO, CISSP) within six (6) months following your date of hire.

    Preferred Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies

    • Linux or similar - familiarity with Linux systems via command-line interface (CLI).
    • Experience contributing to information technology and security projects, in particular projects which require coordination with developers, engineering domains, and service stakeholders.
    • Experience with usage and development of solutions for big data platforms.
    • Experience working in a closed / highly secure / regulated environment.
    • Strong background in secure development principals and methodologies of software security.
    • Familiarity with DevOps culture, policies, and practices.
    • Familiar with cloud computing platforms  Azure, AWS, and GCP.
    • Experience with automation, scripting, and programming.
    • Understanding of Unit Testing and Integration Testing with production experience.
    • Industry certifications for security and systems engineering, cyber security, big data analytics, cloud engineering

    Security Clearance Level:

    • Ability to obtain a clearance (Active DOE Q OR TS clearance preferred).
