This position oversees the team responsible for the development, analysis, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, measurement, and verification (EM&V) of distributed energy resources (DER) which are part of the Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA) and Non-Wires Solutions (NWS)in Maine and Connecticut respectively. This position also leads the advancement of other key clean energy initiatives, as appropriate, such as utility thermal energy networks. Specifically, this position will be responsible for:
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
1. Lead a team that includes one or more Engineer(s) and Analyst(s) to:
a. Identify NWA/NWS opportunities through the application of suitability criteria to planned capital projects.
b. Oversee the development of NWA/NWS opportunities and associated sourcing process including Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
c. Provide strategic support and guidance to the team during evaluation of responses to NWA/NWS RFPs.
d. Review Benefit Cost Analysis (BCA) evaluations on potential NWA/NWS projects performed by the team.
e. Act as a liaison between NWA/NWS team and other internal groups as NWA/NWS projects progress towards completion.
f. Support NWA/NWS contract negotiations.
g. Support NWA/NWS EM&V requirements.
h. Manage all budgeting, forecasting, and reporting functions for the NWA/NWS team.
i. Prioritize the NWA/NWS team’s workload, delegate tasks, and ensure sufficient coverage of key responsibilities.
2. Provide other strategic, analytical, technical and business case support to the NWA/NWS team and the New England Integrated System Planning (ISP) organization to facilitate effective incorporation of DER projects within the ISP model.
3. Provide functional coordination across Avangrid for all Non-Wire Alternative activities and responsibilities to ensure consistency and efficiency. This will require leading close coordination and recurring check-ins with other NWA Managers/Teams.
